Guille Alles Library’s drive to raise £120,000
February 22, 2017 /
We’re very excited about the launch of the Guille Allès Library’s drive to raise £120,000 for The Children’s Library Project. Design Director, Oliver Westgarth along with designer, Chris Martel have put together a scheme which links the two rooms and features a variety of open and enclosed spaces, split levels, walkways and nooks for children to explore as they discover the joy of books, reading and learning.
Our plans were displayed at the recent Harry Potter Book Night – which was a great success and a great way to announce the fundraising drive. The designs aim to capture the imagination of young and old in a very similar way!
So far, the library has seen a number of pieces of coverage in the media including an ITV Channel News interview with Oliver where he discusses his own dyslexic childhood as an inspiration for the project.
Fundraising for the development has officially launched and islanders can see some of the plans and make donations at the library or online at www.library.gg/kids or https://giving.gg/donate/charity/109/Guille-Alles-Library
We will be continuing to help the Guille Allès Library with their fundraising efforts over the next few months, watch this space…
