Have you seen the light?

Our Design Director, Oliver Westgarth, is in the process of creating a family home at Le Mont Saint Barn in St Saviour. It’s a beautiful, important listed building and is (or was) in a longstanding state of disrepair.

Years of experience as a ‘hands-on’ architect, both designing and also building projects, enable Oliver to develop bespoke solutions with a craftsmanship which is not always possible.

The roof lights for his project are one such example. They are far larger than anything available ‘off-the-shelf’ and need to be to suck light down into the core of the family living area which faces North/West. The South facing roof lights were designed and fitted by Oliver with welding by Guernsey Metals and the specialist glass supplied by Stainless Steel Fabrications.

Le Mont Saint Barn rooflight installation

Take a look at our time-lapse video which shows the installation of bespoke roof lights at Oliver Westgarth’s Le Mont Saint Barn in St Saviour. We are pleased this project is making steady progress and will soon see a striking contemporary family home created out of the barns which date back to 1630.

Bespoke glasswork like this can be extremely expensive but if you have the know-how to assemble the various components yourself, and can bring the right team together to help, it can save money and increase the possibilities open to you.
