On completing his A Levels Ben joined the practice in 2004 and right away embarked on an HND in Construction with the Guernsey College of Further Education. In 2007 he completed these studies with a Distinction and was also shortlisted for the Guernsey Apprentice of the Year 2007. Between 2009 and 2011, whilst still working for CCD, Ben studied for a Degree in Architectural Technology through London South Bank University, and received a First Class Honours degree. Ben has been a Chartered Member of CIAT since 2014.
Through hard work and a genuine interest in his subject Ben has ensured a quick rise through the ranks and is now one of the practice’s Senior Technologists. He is involved on a broad range of projects across the CCD portfolio, his role focusing on the technical aspects of the designs and their subsequent construction, from innovative new-builds through to sensitive restoration of historic buildings. He is a very competent project co-ordinator and contract administrator and always gets on well with his clients.
This interest has led to Ben becoming involved on a number of schemes in the office, where the aim is to really push the boundaries of sustainable, low energy and low running-cost buildings, but critically to a cutting edge, high quality contemporary design, merging the best of the Old & New.
