Pomme de Terre
To avoid the demolition of this 1950's bungalow, CCD suggested a more sustainable approach of retaining and repurposing the existing property, and extending it to the rear; this would provide the client's desired large studio space, home office and increased accommodation.

A replacement pitched-roof was designed over the bungalow, with unusual round dormer windows and a full-height oriel window in the gable allowing views to Alderney. The bungalow's ground floor layout was retained and a new spiral stairwell inserted to provide access to the first floor.
The bungalow and new two-storey timber extension are connected via a link clad in Alderney stone. The living room, kitchen and dining area are situated in the extension, to make the most of its stunning views.
