The Mill
This distinctive project involved the refurbishment of a former windmill owned by a local jewellery designer. The showroom occupies the ground floor, with six floors of private living accommodation rising above.

The brief was twofold: to extend the showroom in a contemporary form, and to create additional accommodation on the floor immediately above. At the time, the first floor was encircled by the roofless remains of a granite perimeter wall — a fragment of the mill’s original structure.
The ground floor was expanded with a frameless glass box, providing maximum visibility for the jeweller's vibrant and unconventional jewellery designs. Above, the extension repurposed the ruined outer wall to form a striking open-plan interior.
The showpiece of the project is the curved, retractable glass roof. At the touch of a button, the sunroom transforms into a secluded roof garden, offering light and openness while preserving privacy from showroom visitors below.
